Bags of Blessings for Young Hurricane Victims

Gifts sent to young hurricane victims

A small number of children affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita will soon receive a token of caring from the Blue Licks Assembly of God in Fleming County. Supported by the Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade (BGMC), Gospel Publishing House and Convoy of Hope, the “Bags of Blessings” drive started last month. The concept was simple: Take a small draw-string knapsack and fill it with small toys, games (either fun or educational) and other gifts for a boy or girl of a specific age. The congregation of Blue Licks Assembly of God generously filled and donated 20 Bags of Blessings for children preschool through older elementary age. A children’s Bible was added to each bag in hopes that the Word of God will bring comfort into their lives. The knapsacks will be delivered to the children through a crisis center sometime within the next two weeks.
