Call it a super auction or simply a bidders paradise, but a sale Maysville is sure to get auction lovers excited.
Craig Stanfield is having what he calls "a huge auction event" Saturday from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. at the Simon Kenton Warehouse located on Fleming Road and will offer everything from lumber to antiques.
"I have merchandise from an estate and three households that need to be auctioned," Standfield said. "We also had two houses. I thought it would be good to put everything together and have one auction."
The warehouse is filling up with building supplies, tools, furniture, antiques and household items.
"We have new building materials, landscaping and three trucks," Standfield said. "We have a 1978 Corvette."
When word got out that Standfield was planning such an auction and he said people started to ask if they could bring items to the warehouse. And the sale really offers an opportunity for one-stop shopping featuring not only home furnishings but even the homes. Also on the block are two home building lots from the Bank of Maysville and two lots with mobile homes located in Tollesboro.

"We can do real estate auctions this way cheaper, because consigners don't have to pay advertising costs. All cost are divided between all consigners here," Stanfield said.
The most deluxe item is a nine-piece Victorian parlor set, complete with marble topped tables. The sofa and settee are a rich red velvet in the medallion back style. The chairs, including a gossip bench, are a floral print in the rose back style. Standfield said the set is a reproduction which is about 30 years old.
"The company that made this is out of business," Standfield said. "This set is worth about $10,000."
Victorian lamps with 10 sparkling crystals complete the set.
Rugs dot the warehouse floor as Standfield unpacked the many items. He said he and apprentice auctioneers, Eric Downs and Mike Gifford have tried to make the warehouse look a little homier with rugs on the floor and rooms of furniture set up for viewing.
"We put table cloths on the tables where we have items displayed," Standfield said. "The different colors means different consigners."
Three sets of Johann Havilland Bavarian china will be auctioned. One set has blue flowers with silver trimming, another features violets and still another pink roses. There are several items of depression glass in green, pink and yellow. Fenton, McCoy and Rookwood are just a few of the names that are familiar to collectors.
Televisions, refrigerators, washers, dryers and freezers are ready to be auctioned along with mowers, tillers and a blacktop sealer machine.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served by Hope Ridge Farm Meats LLC.
"They have the best country ham I have ever eaten," Standfield said.
Seating is available for nearly 150 people. If all goes well and the auction is popular, Stanfield hopes to have two others this summer.
