" If they want to find drug activity the really should go to Vanceburg again, but try to arrest some differant people. Always the same ones over and over seems like the rest are protected or maybe informants . Informants can do ,sell, or do anything they please. Same way down on cabin creek I listened to a bust on the scanner and no charges were ever filled. Not everyone that get's pain med.s are doing something wrong some people actually need there med.s , but you better have a safe if you do and any of these people see you at the Dr. start worrying bout people breaking in your home. " Just now read the article, Great job Officer Fugett, your one of my favorite, people. I do not believe that people in general should worry about the relationship between the mayor and his police officers. They have a wonderful working relationship from what I have observed. Mr. Flannery is a wonderful person and does his job well. He nor anyone else for that matter cannot help or foresee what a family member may or may not do. That's just life. What about Fleming County getting their own K-9 unit? It's greatly needed. "

" The last time a Flemingsburg police officer arrested one of the Mayor of Flemingsburg's kin folks, the officer ended up losing his job. I hope that is not the case with this arrest.
This alleged criminal is the Mayor's grandson.
Congrates to the Ledger for actually printing the story, but you should dig a little for the rest of the story and see if the bust will affect the relationship between city officers and the mayor of the city that's what people realy want to know. Besides its not Maysville we're talking about so theres no need to worry about getting fired for doing your job. It's just Flemingsburg. "

It is a shame the law cannt catch these people dealing them. Maybe the DEA needs to keep a closer eye on the doctors who are giving out these drugs to people that are out here selling there meds to these young people. "

There are so many pressures on children these days, by other kids, to "try this" , and taking this quantity of drugs of the street is wonderful, not a waste of tax payer's dollars! "

" I too want to congratulate the police on this bust! Further, in response to another's comments: Marijuana is illegal, and the effects of the drug put other people's lives at risk. It is not harmless (natural substance or not) and I hope that someday our entire society is intelligent enough to know the dangers, health affects, and impacts that the use of these drugs can have, not only on the user, but to those who inadvertently get in the path of the users, and not to mention the genetic abnormalities that may be passed on to the unborn children of the users. Note to "drew b": Cyanide, arsenic, and strychnine are naturally occurring substances as well; doesn't mean they can't kill you. "

" Wasting tax payer's dollars on small-time drugs like this advance us nowhere, fast. This young man will most likely recieve a stiff sentence. His impending lock up will require us to release a prisoner of a more severe nature and penalty, i.e. Rapist, Child abuser/Molester, etc. To all of the supposed police officers out there: Take the fight to crimes that really affect our society. Don't waste your time and effort creating things to do. Real cops don't mess with 6 pounds of a natural substance. "
