Henderson recognized as outstanding freshman

William (Bill) Henry Henderson was recognized as an Outstanding Freshman at Northern Kentucky University.  An Evening of Student Achievement was held in the Eva Ferris Auditorium at Northern Kentucky University on Feb. 25, 2008 to award certificates of recognition to the Outstanding Freshmen, as well as, to induct juniors and seniors into the Alpha Chi Honors program.

In determining who to recommend, his instructor Jim Nilson considered the following characteristics:  academic proficiency, leadership, enthusiasm, creativity, insight, participation, persistence and determination.  Throughout the first semester, Bill demonstrated a thirst for learning, an ability to adapt to new situations, and an appreciation for educational opportunities.  Instructor Nilson was quoted as saying; “Bill always took an active part in the class, drawing his classmates into the class discussions.”

Bill, a 2007 graduate of Lewis County High School, is now majoring in electronic media and broadcasting at NKU.  He is the son of Tommy and Lana Henderson of May's Lick, the grandson of the late Henry and Margaret Ellison, and the late William Henderson and Leona Henderson of Paris, Ky.
