MR. HOBBS

TOLLESBORO -- Luther Paul Hobbs, 95, of Ribolt Epworth Spur, died May 11, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Vanceburg.

He was born in Lewis County, March 14,1913, to the late Charles Hobbs and Bertha Straley.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Hamlin Hobbs of Tollesboro.

Mr. Hobbs was retired from Reinhardt Trucking.

Surviving children are Paul Hobbs of Tollesboro, Charles Hobbs of Douglasville, Ga., Toneda Shaw of Tollesboro, Dana Skidmore of Tollesboro and Connie Fannin of Vanceburg; two brothers, Ray Hobbs of Quincy, and Fred Hobbs of Vanceburg ; one sister, Juanita Craycraft of Minford, Ohio; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Hobbs and Gerald Hobbs; one daughter, Sandra Lykins; one grandchild; one brother, James Hobbs; and four sisters, Bessie Hobbs, Nancy Grayson, Alice Ater and Louise Duzan.

Services are 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro. Rev. David Shoemaker will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Ribolt.


Visitation is 6-8 p.m., today, May 13, 2008 at the funeral home.
