AUGUSTA -- Hazel Mefford, 94 of Augusta, died Saturday, May 11, 2008 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Alva Mefford, Sr. She was born in Augusta on Sept. 29, 1913 to the late John and Barbara Hay Walters. She retired from the US Shoe Company in Ripley, Ohio and was a member of Augusta Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son Paul (Jewell) Mefford of Augusta; and a daughter-in-law Judy Mefford of Augusta; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Alva A. Mefford; and a daughter Gloria Mefford.

Services 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home. Burial in Augusta Cemetery. Visitation 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
