BASEBALL

A youth baseball tournament will be held July 25-27 in Falmouth, hosted by BB's Blasters. Cost is $200. Three games guaranteed. Divisions for tee-ball, machine-pitch, 10-under and 11-under. Cohntact Keith Smith at Everett.Smith@pendleton.kyschools.us or (859) 322-4658 for information.

The third annual Brown County Night at Great American Ball Park will be June 10. Cost of $25 per person includes game ticket and chartered bus fare. Tickets are on a first come, first served basis, and only 54 tickets are available. Seats are on the field level, section 136, down the right field line. The event is sponsored by the Russellville Kiwanis Club. You can order and pay for tickets at Purdy & Ring Law Office in Georgetown, Fifth Third Bank in Russellville and Georgetown, and First State Bank of Adams County in Ripley, Georgetown and Mount Orab. Bus leaves the Rambler Center in Russellville at 4:45 p.m. and St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown at 5 p.m.

BASKETBALL

The St. Patrick basketball camp will be June 9-13 from 8-11:30 a.m. each day. The camp will be for boys and girls who will be in the first through sixth grades in the 2008-09 school year. Camp will consist of individual and group station work, 3-on-3 league and tournament, shooting contests and guest speakers discussing fitness, teamwork, work ethic and values. Each child will receive a shirt and medal. Trophies will be awarded for 3-on-3 and shooting contests. Cost is $60, and checks need to be received by May 23. The 2008 Mason County Royals Basketball Camp will be held June 17-20 at the Fieldhouse. The camp is for boys and girls entering grades 1-8. Campers in grades 1-4 will participate from 9:30a.m.-Noon and grades 5-8 will be from 1:00-3:30p.m. Cost is $45 and all campers will receive a t-shirt and a basketball for participating. GOLF


The annual Ladies Day golf outing will be on Thursday, June 12, at Laurel Oaks Golf Course, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. There will be flighted brackets. Registration deadline will be June 9. Cost is $35 for Laurel Oaks members and $45 for non-members. Theme for the event is "Tea Time at Laurel Oaks." There will be a prize for most original theme attire. Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Buffalo Trace Childrens Advocacy Center. Breakfast will be available at 9 a.m. and lunch following play. The Mason County UK Alumni Club will host its annual golf scramble and picnic supper on Monday, May 12, at Maysville Country Club. The nine-hole scramble will begin at 4 p.m., and the picnic supper will begin at 6:30. Prizes for hole contests. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. SOFTBALL

A girls' fast-pitch softball league at Wald Park in Maysville is forming. Play begins June 2. There will be age groups for 12-under, 14-under, high school and new this year are an Open division and a learning league for girls 10 and under. Limestone Family YMCA softball leagues will begin play the first week of June. There will be a church league on Mondays, co-ed league on Tuesdays and men's league on Thursdays. The 10th annual Scottie and Shane Morgan memorial softball tournament will be held June 7-8 at Maysville-Mason County Recreation Park. Proceeds will benefit the Morgan Children's Trust Fund. Entry fee is $125. Six home runs per team, then you will progress by one. Hit your own .44 core, 375-compression ball. The tournament will take the first 16 teams. Trophies will be given for first, second and third places. First place will also receive custom sweatshirts, and second place will receive T-shirts. RUNNING

The third annual Farmer's Fitness 5K run will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in Mays' Lick. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The course goes through May's Lick and nearby farm fields. Entry fee of $15 includes a race T-shirt. Entry forms are online at www.mayslick.com or at the May's Lick Market on U.S. 68.

The annual Kinfolk's Landing 5K run/walk is scheduled for Sat., May 31, in Manchester, Ohio.

The race begins at 8 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:30 at Front and Pike Streets.

The fee is $12.00 in advance and $15. 00 the day of the race, which includes a t-shirt for participants.
