Twelve from area named Sen. Jeff Green Scholars Tuesday, August 26, 2008 12:26 PM EDT
As Sen. Jeff Green scholars, these students are eligible for $2,500 a year in Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship awards. Students may receive up to $10,000 toward their college expenses if they continue to do well in school. The title honors the late state Sen. Jeff Green of Mayfield, who served in the Kentucky General Assembly from 1992 to 1997. Area students who earned this prestigious designation include: • Bracken County High School, Adriana Ruf; • Fleming County High School, Kendall Corbin, Brittany Hedges and Grant Schwartz; • Lewis County High School, Elizabeth Mays; • Mason County High School, Kellie Crump, Elizabeth Dobson, Alexandria Fisher, Lyndsey Meek, Zachary Ruble and Bethany Sparks; an • St. Patrick High School, Amy Appelman.
