Three people arrested in August as part of an investigation into drug trafficking were indicted by a Mason County grand jury Tuesday.
Florencia Sotelo, Angel Diaz and Aberlado Cruz were arrested Thursday, Aug.7, following the arrest of Sotelo, also known as Sandro, after he was pulled over during a traffic stop by the Mason County Sheriff's Office and found to not have an operator's licence.
According to an agent with the Buffalo Trace/Gateway Area Narcotics Task Force, Sandro was found to have drugs on his person following the arrest. Sandro was charged with possession and trafficking of a controlled substance in the first-degree.
Following the drug investigation during the traffic stop, a search warrant was issued for Sandro's place of residence. Sandro had been living at 3490 Germantown Road in the Highland Heights area.
Upon arriving at that address, authorities said they found the home had two occupants who were arrested, Angel Diaz and Abelarlo Cruz.
"The search of the residence yielded a large quantity of cocaine as well as a sizable amount of cash," said the task force agent in an earlier statement to the media.
Scales and other items used in the drug trade were also found at the residence, in addition to a fire arm which was seized.
Officials said the arrests were part of an ongoing drug investigation which has taken place over the past three to four months involving Mason County Sheriff and the Maysville Police Department.
Sotelo was indicted on one count each of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, cocaine 0.492 grams, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, cocaine 0.256 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cruz was indicted on one count each of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, cocaine 23.248 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The indictment alleges Blankenship wrongful took approximately $18,855 belonging to Comprehend for a court ordered DUI program and $3,000 for a program entitled Families in Transition.
