A Mason County grand jury handed down indictments naming 14 people Friday on charges ranging from drug trafficking to failure to register as a sex offender and burglary.

Robert Allen Emmons, 49, was indicted on one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and one count of second-degree persistent felony offender.

Emmons was arrested Sept. 18 by Maysville Police Officer T.C. Rice after investigating complaints received of Emmons allegedly selling pain pills in the west end of downtown Maysville. At the time, MPD Detective Ken Fuller said while conducting an interview with the suspect, Rice told officers he found Emmons to be in possession of 80 pills which were not in a proper container.

During the investigation, police said officers seized additional pills and several hundred dollars in cash from Emmons' residence.

Emmons' arrest in September was the fourth time he has been arrested by police on five drug trafficking and related charges since 2004, Fuller said.

According to the indictment, Emmons was found to be in possession of 80 oxycodone, a Schedule II narcotic drug.
