Brown County residents nabbed in Clermont drug sting

BATAVIA, Ohio -- A Clermont County drug sting has resulted in the indictment of several Brown County residents.
A Clermont County grand jury handed down indictments Wednesday, involving containing 121 counts involving drugs. On Thursday, members of the Clermont County Drug Task Force and members of nine other law enforcement agencies began serving warrants on 47 suspects including many from Clermont County and Cincinnati, several from Georgetown, Ohio and one from Ripley, Ohio, police said.
Listing a Georgetown address were Richard Haney, 28 indicted for trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin; Kerrie Haney, 27, for possession of heroin; Charles Kelch, 24, possession of heroin, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and possession of cocaine; Michael Hibbs, 25, three counts possession of heroin; Clarence McCarty, 36, possession of heroin and possession of cocaine; and Ronald D. Smith, 20, of Ripley was indicted for possession of heroin.
According to Clermont County Sheriff A.J. "Tim" Rodenberg, the operation had targeted opiate abuse and trafficking, including, morphine, codeine, Oxycontin, Percocet, methadone and heroin.
In a sharp contrast, the 2007 task force action with the same targeted trafficking patterns netted 17 grams of heroin while there were more than 300 grams of heroin seized in the Thursday sweep.
Also indicted Wednesday were Michael Miller, Tiffany Blankenship, Patricia Jones, David Rapp Jr., Richard O. Morales, Abrahan S. Juarez, April Schott, Christina Hairfield, Adam Loughner, Michael Clagg, Timothy Giovenetti, Eric Pall, Charles Moore, Gabriel Campbell, Christopher Moore, Dede Thompson, Tammy Frederick, Milly Fent, Daniel Holloway, Christina Baer, Marc Brookenthal, David F. Imjalli, Michael Moore, Jacob Kretten, Lisa Fisher, Alex Davis, Joshua Thompson, Nicholas Kincaid, Keith Wieland, David Rapp Sr., James Watson, Brian Bugge, Marcus Schrieber, John Taylor, Lela Dennison, Robin Hollen, Justo Perez, Aaron Painter and James Lawrence.
Including previous indictments there have been 61 people indicted on a total of 185 felony offenses, Rodenberg said.
