And now, Michael Bolton.

Ten years ago could any of us have imagined all of these stars and more would put on a show in the middle of downtown Maysville? Probably not. But here we are 10 years later and what began as an idea to promote our town has grown into what could arguably be called the area's premiere event.

When Bolton takes the stage tonight, his appearance will mark the 10th time the magic has happened at the corner of Market and Third streets. From Rosemary's first concert there in 1999 to this year, the event has maintained its magical quality.

"I used to sing for nothin’ on these street corners. Now, all these years later, I’m doing the same damned thing," Rosie joked as she began her performance the first year. A few years later, sadly, our Girl Singer was gone. But to the credit of organizers, the Clooney family and the community, the festival which bears her name has lived on and continued to bring a welcome spotlight on our town. And in the ensuring years, several local organizations and causes have benefitted, first the Russell Theatre and later the Downing Academy and Maysville Players, all groups with ties to the performing arts and close to Rosie's heart.

As we celebrate this 10th year, we welcome those who may be attending the event for the first time and welcome back those who have made it an annual pilgrimage. Let's extend a good dose of southern hospitality to all, from the men and women who work behind the scenes to those who sit on the front row. We're glad to have you here, hope you enjoy your stay and we fully expect you will want to return -- for the next concert or maybe just for a visit to our Ohio River town. And to the stars who will make Maysville their stage for the weekend -- Michael Bolton and Rich Little -- we offer a warm welcome and an invitation to make us your favorite home away from home.

And now, on with the show.
