MRS. McDANIEL

MAYSVILLE -- Mrs. Ada Catherine McDaniel, 83, of Eastern Hills Subdivision and a former 46 year resident of Fleming Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.
She was the widow of Edward Verner (Vernie) McDaniel who died Aug. 29, 2000.
Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and formerly operated McDaniel’s Grocery.
She was born in Mason County on Oct. 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Jess and Sudie Holt Mefford.
She was the beloved mother of one daughter, Connie Sue Bickley (Joe) of Maysville; three sons, Eddie McDaniel (Judy) and Mike McDaniel (Mary), both of Maysville and Doug McDaniel of Lexington; three grandchildren, Tyler McDaniel, Crystal Bickley and Joey Bickley; and three great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Carl Mefford, Howard Mefford and Willard Mefford; and one sister, Lucille Schatzman preceded her in death.
Services for Ada McDaniel will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2 p.m., today, Oct. 4, 2008, with Rev. E. Ray Throckmorton and Rev. Earl Clay Sanders officiating.
Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Poynter, Jeff Fleming, Gene Mefford, Steve Dearinger, Tyler McDaniel, Wendall Shelton and Joey Bickley.
Visitation was Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
