Coaches: Russell -- Ivan McGlone (309-141-3, 37th year); Lewis -- Josh Hughes (0-5, first year)

Noteworthy: Russell defeated Lewis County 65-20 last year. It was McGlone's 300th win as a head coach. ... The teams have a common opponent in West Carter, which Russell defeated 44-9 on Sept. 12 and Lewis County lost to 20-14 the following week. ... Last week, Russell defeated Lawrence County 41-20. ... Russell is ranked third in Class 3A in the latest Associated Press poll. ... With a win, Russell can improve its district record to 3-0 and clinch a first-round home playoff game. A 3-0 record would put the Devils in a first-place tie atop the district with Mason County, which they will host in two weeks. ... Senior running back Drew Abrams has rushed for 745 yards (eighth in Class 3A) and 12 touchdowns. ... Senior quarterback A.J. Cordle is 19-of-43 for 483 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. ... Senior Justin Mitchell is the team's leading receiver with nine catches for 342 yards and five touchdowns. ... Lewis County was off last week. Two weeks ago, the Lions lost 42-24 at Powell County. ... The Lions' 24-point output at Powell was more than their previous four games combined (21 points).

Noteworthy: Last year, Gallatin County defeated Bracken County 37-7 in the first meeting between the two schools. ... The teams have two common opponents in Frankfort (Bracken lost 43-18, Gallatin lost 60-0) and Eminence (Bracken lost 46-0, Gallatin lost 28-21). ... Last week, Gallatin County lost 21-14 to Cooper. It was the first win for the first-year school. ... Senior quarterback Jesse Florence and senior running back Damien Mains are the Wildcats' top offensive performers. ... Last week, Bracken County lost 61-22 to Bellevue, which is ranked sixth in Class A in the latest AP poll. ... Stevens took over as interim coach following Chuck Faust's resignation two weeks ago. ... The Polar Bears have scored 40 points in two games under Stevens, compared to 25 points over their first three games.

Noteworthy: Clermont Northeastern defeated Bethel-Tate 14-7 for its first win of the season. The Rockets stopped Bethel-Tate on a late fourth-and-one situation at the 16-yard line and ran out the clock. ... Bethel-Tate, which travels to Manchester in two weeks, was also CNE's only victory last season. ... The Rockets have struggled on offense, averaging 6.9 points per game. Since a 20 -point output in the season opener at Cincinnati Country Day, they have managed just four touchdowns and have been shut out three times. ... CNE competes in Division IV, two classes larger than Manchester. ... Last week, Manchester lost 96-20 to Grove City Christian in its first varsity home game since 1980. ... Greyhounds quarterback Dawson Little started out last week's game going 6-of-19 for 27 yards in the first half, but completed his first four passes of the second half for 132 yards and a touchdown. On the season, Little has thrown for 1,325 yards and 15 touchdowns while running for 541 yards and three scores. ... The Greyhounds have been outscored 368-36 in the first half this season, but have outscored opponents 148-95 in second halves. ... The Greyhounds have been hurt by big plays this season, and gave up nine touchdowns of 20 yards or more last week.
