RIPLEY, Ohio | Fireworks, beauty pageant, tobacco show, parade, live entertainment, talent show and much more are part of the 31st annual Ohio Tobacco Festival.

The festival starts at 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 26 until 4 p.m., in locations throughout downtown Ripley.

Craft booths and carnival rides will be open all weekend, and the annual Ohio Tobacco Festival Queen contest is the highlight of Thursday's activities beginning at 8 p.m.

Friday's activities start at noon and include commercial exhibits, a tobacco show, parade, live entertainment at the main stage from 7 to 11 p.m., and fireworks at dark.

Saturday starts with a 5K run/walk at 7 a.m., car show at 9 a.m., baby show, tobacco cutting contest, Ripley Idol Talent contest, kids rodeo and more throughout the day.  Live entertainment begins at 7 p.m.

Sunday wraps up the four day event with a prayer breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by baking contest, fireman's parade, cigar and pipe smoking contests, live entertainment by Mr. Chris and The Cruisers at 2 p.m., and a duck race on the river.
