RIPLEY, Ohio | Eight wineries in the Ohio River Valley have joined together for the Annual Barrel Tasting on Saturday, Nov. 24.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the winemakers and sample future vintages at all eight wineries including Kinkead Ridge in Ripley, Harmony Hill in Bethel, Ohio, Meranda-Nixon in Ripley, Henke in Cincinnati, Burnet Ridge in North College Hill, Ohio, Woodstone Creek in Cincinnati and Hanover in Hamilton, Ohio in southern Ohio and one winery in Kentucky, Baker-Bird in Augusta. Ferry service is available to cross the Ohio River to Augusta , which is 10 miles west of Ripley.
This annual Barrel Tasting is a classic event in wine making regions for family and friends to gather together to taste existing and future vintages. Locally produced wine is a great holiday gift.
Kinkead Ridge is located at 904 Hamburg Street, Ripley; tasting hours 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tasting fees vary depending upon choice to taste wines in bottle and barrel, and whether or not you taste in a logo glass you get to keep or a disposable plastic glass. We will only be tasting barrel samples. A very limited amount of wine remains for sale. First time visitors should please note the winery is not located at the vineyard, but in a small residential area east of downtown Ripley.
