Two Maysville men arrested last week for an alleged burglary at a home on Williams Street were indicted Friday by a Mason County grand jury.
John L. Boyd III, 19, and Christopher D. Neal, (no relation to MPD Sgt. Chris Neal), 18, were both indicted on one count each of second-degree burglary when they "knowingly and unlawfully entered or remained in the dwelling of Brad Stephens with the intent to commit a crime," according to the indictment.
Last week, officials with the Maysville Police Department said a call came into emergency dispatch at about 8 p.m., on Tuesday, June 2, in reference to a burglary complaint. Officers dispatched to the home said a door at the side of the house had been kicked in and a refrigerator moved so the burglars could gain entrance into the residence.
According to MPD Detective Michael Palmer, the victim provided officers with a list of items taken from the home. After talking with neighbors, additional information was obtained which led to Boyd and Neal being located and taken to police headquarters for questioning.
