Two men arrested in June for allegedly burglarizing Earlywine Racing, Inc. have been indicted by a Mason County grand jury.
On June 18, Mason County Sheriff Patrick Boggs said two Bracken County men were arrested for allegedly stealing multiple ATVs and dirt bikes from the racing facility located on Kentucky 9 in western Mason County.
The vehicles were removed from a storage building on the property and it wasn't until Saturday, June 13 the thefts were discovered.
Boggs said the thefts happened on multiple occasions during a 13-day period between June 1 and June 13; the value of ATVs and dirt bikes has been estimated to be around $15,000 to $16,000.
MCSO Deputy Mike Rigdon worked the investigation and anonymous tips led to the arrest of Ethan L. Sutton, 19, and Harvey C. Napier, 20, both of Foster on June 14.
Boggs said two ATVs were recovered in Bracken County and one dirt bike was recovered in Mason County; the ATVs were recovered in Bracken County on June 14 with officers from Kentucky State Police Dry Ridge Post assisting with the investigation.
Sutton was in possession of one stolen dirt bike at the time of his arrest.
Boggs said it was discovered during the investigation Napier has been serving time on weekends at the Mason County Detention Center for previous offenses during the same time the vehicles were stolen, indicating the thefts took place during the work week.
On Friday, Sutton and Napier were both indicted on one count each of third-degree burglary and receiving stolen property in excess of $300.
Other indicted Friday were:
— Rex Stacey Parker, 47, first-degree promoting contraband while serving as an inmate in the Mason County Detention Center he allegedly had in his possession five alprazolam tablets.
— Angela D. Rigdon, 26, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, oxycodone; second-degree possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone; third-degree possession of a controlled substance, diazepam; controlled substance not in proper container; first-degree persistent felony offender.
— Carol D. Gibbs, also known as Carol D. Brownlee, 38, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.
— Anthony Earl McFarland, 33, receiving stolen property , a Smith and Wesson .357 magnum revolver; two counts first-degree persistent felony offender; possession of handgun by a convicted felon.
— Carl Keith Wagner, 31, first-degree bail jumping.
— Markus A. Breckenridge, 18, first-degree perjury.
— Dennis Ray McDowell Jr., 36, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance,, oxycodone; controlled substance not in proper container; possession of drug paraphernalia.
An indictment is not a finding or admission of guilt and all indicted persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
