The Buffalo Trace Area Development District is sponsoring a public forum Monday at 6 p.m. at Maysville Community and Technical College Fields Auditorium to hear ideas and comments from residents in the area.
Doug Padgett, said the forum is to help BTADD with its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.
"We do an annual update of the strategy and the Economic Development Administration encourages us to do a forum," Padgett said.
The forum gives the public a chance to tell BTADD what needs to be done, what needs to be improved and what subjects they would like to address in the future.
"We touch on all subjects," Padgett said. "We have everything from government, water, sewer, education and health care issues."
Transportation needs, natural resources, human resources, public protection and area infrastructure needs are also addressed.
Buffalo Trace rewrites the comprehensive strategy every five years, according to Padgett. During other years, the district solicits public input that will be used not only to update the strategy, but also to assist with the rewrite.
Needs change in communities, towns and counties, Padgett said. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy helps local entities plan for changing needs.
