A KSP dispatcher Monday referred questions to the public affairs officer who was not available. The Paris Police Department referred questions to KSP.

According to media reports, Ross was wanted for the murder of 57-year-old Leroy Richardson who was found at a home on levy Road in North Middletown in Bourbon County about 1:30 a.m., Sunday. A Bourbon County deputy coroner reportedly said the man appeared to have been shot to death, though an official cause of death is pending until an autopsy is complete.

Additionally, Ross has been charged with first-degree assault for allegedly shooting and injuring Joey Richardson, Leroy Richardson's son, according to media reports.

Ross and the Richardsons were "acquaintances," according to reports. Police have not released a motive.
