VANCEBURG - An assistant principal at Fairview High School in Boyd County, has been suspended with pay after allegedly overdosing on drugs in Lewis County.
According to Fairview Superintendent Michael Taylor, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office contacted the school district after Assistant Principal Justin Hollingsworth allegedly overdosed at his residence in Lewis County.
Emergency responders found Hollingsworth unresponsive at around 11 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department. Hollingsworth was revived with Narcan and transported to the Southern Ohio medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio for treatment, officials.
Deputies found substances inside the home believed to be illegal narcotics. The substances have been sent for analysis. According to reports, a woman and two children were in the home at the time of the incident.
No charges have been filed against the assistant principal as of press time. Hollingsworth has been placed on a 10-day suspension by Fairview Independent Schools.
The incident remains under investigation.
