FLEMINGSBURG | The Kentucky State Police are investigating an alleged murder/suicide in the Hillsboro area of Fleming County.

According to KSP Sergeant Brian Evans, a call was received at the Fleming County dispatch to respond to a house on Colfax Road for a domestic dispute around 1 a.m., Thursday.  Upon arrival, officers found 50-year-old Ricky Crawford suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to KSP Trooper Veeneman, the father and son had been arguing, which escalated until David Crawford shot his father.

Veeneman said Ricky Crawford was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:30 a.m.

"We don't know what the argument was over," Veeneman said.  "We just know it was a domestic dispute."

According to Veeneman, while on scene, officers saw David Crawford pass by the house.  Officers pursued him on Lower Licking Road in Rowan County until  David Crawford pulled over to the side of the road and turned a gun on himself.

Rowan County Coroner John Northcut said he pronounced David Crawford dead at the scene at 2:48 a.m.

KSP Trooper Eugene Robinson, Detectives David Zimmerman and Wess Prather responded to the house, along with Fleming County Sheriff's Deputies Tim Smith and Garrett Ingram.
