Lana Brown

FLEMINGSBURG -- A Maysville woman has been arrested after she allegedly was caught shoplifting in a Flemingsburg hardware store, police said.

Lana Brown, 43, was arrested Monday and charged with shoplifting over $500, a class D. felony.

According to Officer Brad Crawford of the Flemingsburg Police Department, he received a call from an employee of Steve's Ace Hardware on March 1, in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Managers at the story suspected a customer had shoplifted and in reviewing story surveillance footage found that the alleged theft had taken place and that Lana Brown had taken multiple power tools valued at nearly $600, police said.

An arrest warrant was signed and Crawford was taken into custody on March 6 and lodged in the Mason County Detention Center.
