FLEMINGSBURG | Wendell Collins Brown, 68, husband of Wilma E. Brown, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Nepton, and was the son of the late Calvin C. and Jessie Dickson Brown.

Wendell was a member of the Nepton United Methodist Church and had worked at several grocery stores in Flemingsburg since he was 16 years old.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Wanda B. Hurst of Ewing; a brother, Wayne Brown of Fleming County; an aunt, Blanche Claypool of Nepton; and two uncles, Lewis (Scottie) Brown of Nepton, and Gerald (Donna) Dickson of Flemingsburg.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Brown; and his first wife, Mary Lamar Brown.

Services are 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Nepton United Methodist Church in Nepton.

Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce Darnall, Timmy Darnall, Tony Darnall, Marty Brown, Miller Claypool and D.W. Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. William Follmer, Eunice McConnell, Mr.and Mrs. Jerry Warner and Larry Brown.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, at the church. 

Denton-Workman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
