AUGUSTA -- Mr. Eldon “Tom” Cline, 83, of Augusta, passed peacefully with his loving family by his bedside on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at the Bracken County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Augusta.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Faye Cline, who died March 6, 2014.
Tom was born May 3, 1934, in Bracken County to his parents, the late Harry and Wilhelmina Cleat Cline Sr. He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the Augusta VFW Post 9535, a member of the Masonic Order and a Kentucky Colonel.
He leaves behind three sons, Jeff (Becky) Cline of Foster, Stacy (LeAnn) Cline of Maysville and John (Kendra) Cline of Augusta; two daughters, Debora (Greg) Mains and Jennifer (David) Kelsch, both of Augusta; and one sister, Jean Wing of South Bend, Ind. Survivors also include eight grandchildren, Brad Cline (Whitley Morgan), Jacob Kelsch (Becca Smith), Lacey Cline (Reese Scott), Jerica Kelsch (Owens Crawford), Daniel Cline (Rebecca Lewis), Nadia Cline, Jonathon Cline (Lyndsey Whittman) and Eli Cline; two great-grandchildren, Makenna Cline and Tallie Faye Cline; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home in Augusta.
Interment will follow in the Johnsville Cemetery in Johnsville.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at the funeral home.
