MOUNT OLIVET -- John William Kimberling Jr., age 90, formerly of Mount Olivet, passed at his daughter's residence in Lexington on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017.

Born in Robertson County on May 16, 1927, to the late John William Sr. and Bessie Bell Gaitrell Kimberling, he was retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot, a farmer and a member of Piqua Methodist Church.

Mr. Kimberling was a United States Air Force veteran.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Kimberling and his wife, Dorothy; and a sister, Naomi Anderson.

He is survived by a son, Dan Kimberling of Lexington; two daughters, Johnette Hagemann of Lexington and Jennifer Elliotte of Georgia; five grandchildren, Joshua Hagemann, Beaverton, Oregon, Jonathan Hagemann, Louisville, Lauren Riley Elliotte, Marietta, Georgia, Christopher William (Gwen) Elliotte of Marietta, Ga. and Jessica Barnett, Nicholasville; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday at Robertson County Funeral Home with visitation at 1 p.m.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dan Kimberling, Jonathan Hagemann, Joshua Hagemann, Christopher Elliotte, Robert Adamson and Gayle Harber. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Linville and Ronnie Flora.
