MAYSVILLE -- Omar Edward “Eddie” Moran, 84, of 7040 Dixon Pike, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 24, 2017.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1933, in Mason County to the late Omar Morgan and Audrey Allison Moran.

He graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1952 and attended Asbury College. He was a journeyman sprinkler fitter for 32 years and a member of Local Union 669, United Association for 60 years. He was a member of Seddon United Methodist Church. Following retirement, Eddie and his wife, Gayle enjoyed traveling the United States for more than 20 years to visit family and friends. They were excited to take annual trips with their grandchildren for several years. He also loved gatherings to celebrate family reunions, holidays and birthdays.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Gayle Applegate Moran. He is survived by three children, William Edward (Jeannette) Moran of Fleming County; Gale (Tom) Michaelides of Delaware, Ohio; and Robin (Rodney) Brehmer of Minot, N.D.; eight grandchildren also survive, Amanda Moreland of Lewis Center, Ohio; Jaime Carter of Thornville, Ohio; Thomas Moreland of Lexington; Alisha (Brad) Gray of Fleming County; Edward Moran of Hillsboro; Bethanie Newsom of Flemingsburg; Kristin (Jason) DuPaul of Bismarck, N.D.; and Nathan Brehmer of Greeley, Colo. Completing the family are 18 great-grandchildren, Connor and Holden Sensabaugh, Evan Parrott, Cameron and Blake Moreland, Mallory Floyd, Alayna Carter, Dalton and Emily Gray, Gavin, Colby, Levi and Logan Moran, Sydney Duncan, Gracey Newsom, and Penelope, Liam and Gemma DuPaul. He is also survived by two sisters, Glenda (Guy) Smith of Aberdeen, Ohio and Debbie (John) Stivers of Beavercreek, Ohio. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant great-granddaughter, Lauren Audrey Parrott; and granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Moran.

Services for Eddie Moran will be held at the Seddon United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, with Rev. Mason Harrod, Rev. Jermey Ruegg and Rev. Keith Sergent officiating.

Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be Thomas Moreland, Edward Moran, Nathan Brehmer, Brad Gray, Dalton Gray and Gavin Moran. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Michaelides, Rodney Brehmer, Guy Smith, John Stivers, Colby Moran, Logan Moran, Levi Moran, Evan Parrott, Connor Sensabaugh, Holden Sensaubaugh and Dr. Craig Denham.

Visitation will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, from 5-7 p.m.
