SALT LICK | Julian Story, 79, of 794 Anderson Branch Road, at Muses Mill, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at his residence.

He was born at Hillsboro, on Nov. 13, 1932, and was the son of the late Harlan and Lela Manning Story.

He was a retired barber in Flemingsburg and was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was a member of the W.N. Fant American Legion Post No.5 in Flemingsburg. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bernice Gulley Story; three sons, Shane, Wes (Lita) and Joe (Melissa) Story, all of Fleming County; one brother, Carl Day Story (Penny); four sisters, Wanda Vice (Bill), Marylin Raskay (Joe), Theresa Mae Garfin (Stan) and Ruby Creech; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Sheena, Danielle, Brad, Jordan, Clint and Juliann; and five great-grandchildren, Zach, Brooklyn, Adam, Carrie Ann and Layla.

A memorial service and gathering of friends and family will be Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Flemingsburg from 1-3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Cancer Care Club in Flemingsburg or St. Claire Hospice in Morehead.
