MOUNT OLIVET -- James Robert Thomas, age 87 of Mount Olivet, went to be with the Lord on Sunday 25, 2018.
Born in Nicholas County on April 29, 1930, to the late Howard and Mabel Chamberlin Thomas, he was a former Kentucky State Highway employee, a farmer, a member of Piqua United Methodist Church and a United States Army veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, LeVaughn Linville Thomas; and two brothers, Clarence “Deb” Thomas and Ernest Clay Thomas.
He is survived by two sons, Randol (Patti) Thomas of Mount Olivet and Mark Douglas (Laurie) Thomas of Cynthiana; a daughter, Patti (Tom) Ellis of Cynthiana; four grandchildren, Marsha Jordan (Cody) Plank, Alisha Nicole (Chase) Johnson, Joseph Robert Thomas and Hannah Jane Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Aurora Paige Johnson, Ava Grace Plank and Adyson Elizabeth Plank; and a special dog, Sophie.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Robertson County Funeral Home by Randol Thomas.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in the Mount Olivet cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randol Thomas, Mark Thomas, Joe Thomas, Tom Ellis, Chase Johnson and Cody Plank. Honorary pallbearer, Johnny White.
