AUGUSTA -- Surrounded by family and friends, Elizabeth Darnell Bush, 95, left her worldly home at 1 a.m. on Nov. 20 to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Hadley Bush.
She married Hadley Earl Bush Oct. 24, 1946, and moved from Cynthiana to set up their home in the Gertrude community of Bracken County.
“Betty” as most knew her, loved her God and her country. She was a proud member of the Captain Phillip Buckner Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a lifelong member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church where she loved to sing many of the Old Time hymns.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Hadley Earl Bush, who together raised a family they both enjoyed greatly. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by six children, who all shared in her care, Margaret McPeek, Earl (Millie) Bush, Eddie (Sherry) Bush, John (Lana) Bush, Susan (Mark) Smithson and Drue (Alex) Hyrcza. Her family proudly includes 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her ministry was truly in the home kitchen where she shared God's love with family and friends alike serving their favorite dishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Augusta Presbyterian Church.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Augusta Presbyterian Church on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017.
Services immediately following at 1 p.m. at the Church as well.
Interment will be at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
