DOVER | Nellie Knapp Bennett Davis, 77, of Dover, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.

Nellie was born on Jan. 15, 1936, in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., to the late Harry Knapp and Myrtle Sydenstricker Knapp.

Mrs. Davis was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and raising flowers. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Nelson E. Davis; a son, Donnie Bennett of Dover, a stepson, Jim Davis of Arizona; a daughter, Peggy Bennett Massey Hurst of Dover; three brothers, Jimmie, Lonnie and Marshall Knapp; grandchildren, Jeremy Gordley, Christopher Massey, Travis Massey, Gary Botkins and James Davis; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Harrison, John, Gordon, Charlie, Ralph and Jessie Knapp.

Services for Mrs. Davis will be private.

Interment will be in her native state of West Virginia.
