MAYSVILLE | Nora Pearl Holland, 85, of Maysville, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

She was the widow of Earl D. Holland Jr. who died July 28, 2002.

Mrs. Holland was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was retired from the Kentucky Department of Human Resources.

She was born in Fleming County on July 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Hobert and Anna Newman Colliver.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Calvert of Lexington, and Martha Watson (Gayle) of May’s Lick; three grandchildren, Charlie Calvert (Lisa) of Charleston, S.C., Cady Jean-Baptiste (Gepson) and LeeAnna Watson, both of Lexington; one great-grandchild, Jake Calvert; and one sister, Jewell Strode of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Leota Farris.

Memorial services for Nora Pearl Holland will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, with Rev. Marty Voiers and Rev. Calvin Holland officiating.

Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
