BROOKSVILLE | Ellen Byron Kelley Jacobs, 86, of Brooksville, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013.

She was born on Kelley Ridge in Bracken County on Jan. 24, 1927, to the late James Edward Kelley and Mary Ellen Fitzgerald Kelley.

She was married to the late William Harold (Bill) Jacobs on Jan. 24, 1948.

Mrs. Jacobs was a member of St. James Parish and its Catholic Action Society. She was a long-time 4-H volunteer and served many years on the Council. She was a retired U.S. rural mail carrier and business owner.

They had four children, the late William Edward (Eddie) Jacobs (Bonnie), Mary Margaret Jacobs Cunningham of Louisville, Robert Joseph (Joe) Jacobs of Brooksville, and Julia Ann Jacobs Tucker (Robert) of Winchester; grandchildren, Donald Edward Jacobs (Beth) of Brooksville, Rachel Cunningham Ehrhart (Matt) and Brian Cunningham of Louisville, Kelly Jacobs Adamson and Jennifer Jacobs of Brooksville, Shawn Bullock of Richmond, and Mary Kelley Tucker of Winchester; great-grandchildren William, Madelyn, Emily, Hannah, Dalton, Emma, Olivia, Zoey, Preston and AmberSha; and step-grandchildren, Patricia, Patrick, Elizabeth and Jason. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Jo Kelley Wolford of Cincinnati, along with cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Esther Kelley Howe.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Brooksville.

Mass of Christian Burial, St. James Church at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 3.

Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Brooksville.
