ABERDEEN, Ohio -- Alma Frazier King, age 89 years, nine months and 13 days, passed away on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at the Adams County Manor in West Union, Ohio, after a brief illness.
She was the daughter of Grover and Lily (Follmer) Frazier and was preceded in death by her parents; and uncle, Stanley Frazier; and four brothers, Charles Frazier, Ollie Frazier, Orville 'Pickles' Frazier and Louis Frazier; and her only sister, Irene Howard; and grandson, Shane Jobe.
Alma was always smiling and enjoyed people and the many friends she met throughout her lifetime. She loved her two children and grandchildren most of all.
Alma graduated from Abedeen High School in 1946, where she was a cheerleader. She worked at several restaurants as a waitress, at Copeland Corporation in West Union and at Hayswood and Meadowview Hospitals as a receptionist and switchboard operator from where she retired after 28 years of service.
She is survived by her son, Harry Frazier and wife, Jenny of Aberdeen; and daughter, Brenda Yates and husband, Gary of Manchester, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Brian Yates of Virginia Beach, Va., Shannon White of Manchester, Farron Allen of Maysville, Michelle Hoop of West Union, Ohio, Michael Frazier of Aberdeen, Chad Jobe of Cincinnati and Zella Meek of Maysville. Mama Alma also had eight great-grandchildren that she loved deeply, Carlos Nevin, Selina Nevin and Dillon Yates of Virginia Beach, Zander and Casen White of Manchester, Lauren Hoop of West Union Taylor Jobe of Cincinnati and Cory Jobe of Fleminsburg. Alma also loved her special niece, Barbara Tomblin; and great-nephew, Darren of Indianapolis, Ind. and Lola Dean Frazier of Boynton Beach, Fla.
Alma was always a kind, caring and generous person who freely donated to many charitable, civic and fraternal organizations. When she was able she attended the Church of the Nazarene in Ripley, Ohio.
Services for Alma King will be held at 1 p.m. Friday Dec. 1, 2017 at Brell and Son Funeral Home, with Clark Castle officiating.
Burial will follow in Charter Oak Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
