VANCEBURG -- Ms. Opal Mae Wills McClurg, age 94, of Vanceburg, passed away Jan. 10, 2018, at the Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Opal was born on Quicks Run, Nov. 2, 1923, to the late Robert and Hila Truesdell Wills.
She was a devoted Mother and homemaker. She attended Concord Christian Holiness Church.
Surviving Opal are two daughters, Violet J. Preston of Ohio; Wanda and her husband, Robert Bobby Sweet of Kentucky; sister, Lucille Grigson of Kentucky; brother, Willie and his wife, Betty Wills of Kentucky; grandchildren, David N. (Joni) Sweet of Texas; Heather (Dusten) Irwin of Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Kristin (Patrick) Sullivan of Texas and Sierra and Bridget Irwin of Kentucky; great-great-grandson, David Sullivan Texas.
Preceding her in death besides her parents, was her husband, Woodrow 'Woody' McClurg on Jan. 17, 2004, whom she married Oct. 11, 1939.; sisters, Bessie Bayless and Rosie Ramsey; and brothers, Alfred and Lawrence Wills.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2018, at the Gaydos Funeral Home with Brother Lovell Grigson Sr.officiating.
Burial will follow in the McClurg cemetery in Concord.
Visitation will be Monday Jan. 15, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
