RIPLEY, Ohio | Myrtie M. Vaughn, 85, of Ripley, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Ripley.

She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley.

Mrs. Vaughn was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Levanna, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert R. and Mary Francis (Morris) Miller.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. “Speed” Vaughn; two sons, Charlie and Jimmy Vaughn; and two brothers, George and Richard Miller.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by one daughter, Kathy Birchfield and husband, Rick of Ripley; longtime dedicated daughter-in-law and dear friend, Martha Vaughn of Ripley; six grandchildren, Joyce Rickey and husband, Doug of Russellville, Ohio, Missy Day and husband, Kash of Russellville, Joe Vaughn and wife, Doreen of Georgetown, Ohio, Mike Helbling and wife, Renee of Amelia, Ohio, Justin Samuel Birchfield of Ripley, Ohio, and Micah Birchfield of Lancaster, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Ashton Rickey, Andrew and Ivy Abercrombie, Caitie and Joseph Vaughn, Lexie and Cody Helbling and Zachary Birchfield; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leota Bauer of Ripley, June Paul of Russellville, and Bonnie Miller of Ripley; and four brothers, Jerry Miller of Ripley, Ronnie Miller of Chillicothe, Ohio, Dyke Miller of Worthington, and Bob Miller of Kentucky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ripley. Rev. Dohrman Byers will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., today, Oct. 3 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley.

Interment will follow the funeral service in Pisgah Ridge Cemetery near Ripley.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Church or Hospice of Hope.
