BROOKSVILLE -- T. Jane Gudgell Young, 93, died peacefully at Breckenridge Care Facility in Lexington on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.
Jane was born on May 8, 1924, to the late Wallace Lee and Rebecca Wade Gudgell near Moorefield in Nicholas County and grew up on a farm on Paris Pike in Bourbon. She graduated from Clintonville High School and the University of Kentucky. After graduation, she was the first Home Demonstration Agent in Bracken County.
In 1948, she married H. Dale Young. She was a devoted member of Bethany Church of Christ for 63 years. She and Dale lived and farmed in Bracken County where they raised their three children, and she taught school in Pendleton County for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Dale Young, to whom she was married for 47 years.
She is survived by her three children, Kenneth Dale (Rhonda) Young of Kingwood, Texas, Michael Lynn (Judy) Young of Chatsworth, Ga. and Judy Ann (Rick) Elrod of Pendleton County; six grandchildren, Laura Michelle Young (Chris) Faulkner of Erie, Colo., Nathan Michael (Breann) Young of Chatsworth, Jon Lucas (Mariah) Elrod of Butler, Kristin Kaye Young (Patrick) Elliott of Cheaspeake, Va., Daniel Dale Young of Kingwood and Aaron Andrew (Brittany) Young of Chatsworth; and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Alyse Faulkner and Kyle Nicholas Faulkner of Erie and Collins Jane Elrod of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Stephen Dale Elrod and Nicholas Wade Elrod; two brothers, Paul Gudgell and Harriel Gudgell; and two sisters, Helen Willmott and Betty Daniels.
Services will be noon on Friday, Nov. 7, 2017 at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville.
Burial will be in the Lenoxburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at the funeral home.
