WEST UNION, Ohio | Rape, arson and drug charges were the basis for recent Adams County grand jury indictments.
Several suspects were arraigned in Adams County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday.
Donald Presley, 39, of West Union, was indicted on a charge of rape with specification, three counts of rape and gross sexual imposition. He is scheduled for pretrial hearings in November and December with a January 2014 trial date.
Roger Wayne Bradford, 56, of Manchester, Ohio was indicted for second-degree arson. He is scheduled for a Nov. 14 hearing and trial Nov. 25.
In unrelated cases, Jennifer Applegate, 32, of Manchester, was indicted for receiving stolen property.
James Taylor, 27, of West Union, was indicted for possession of heroin; in a separate indictment, Taylor was also indicted on a burglary charge.
Kelly Courtney, 37, Eugene Doss, 26, and Chistopher Lockhart, 20, all of of Peebles, Ohio, were indicted for illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.
Dwight Cotton, 56, of Manchester, and Larry Vest, 60, of Peebles, were indicted for illegal cultivation of marijuana with specifications and possession of marijuana.
Ralph Mitchell II, 50, and Verna Mitchell, 52, of Manchester, were each indicted on three counts of trafficking drugs, and possession of heroin.
Darrell G. Weaver, 57, of Portsmouth, Ohio, was indicted on a charge of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer with specification; and Jason Stevens, 33, of New Boston, Ohio, was indicted for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer with specification and felonious assault.
