VANCEBURG | Three people were recently indicted by a Lewis County grand jury.

Amy Abner, 31, was indicted on one count first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.

Former Lewis County Schools employee Kasey Nolen, 40, was indicted on one count possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Nolen received five years probation in January after pleading guilty to charges of sexual misconduct and custodial interference after he was arrested for having a relationship with a 17-year-old high school student.

Vernon Bloomfield was indicted on one count third-degree rape and one count incest.

The charges came after social services contacted the Kentucky State Police regarding Bloomfield allegedly abusing a minor.

The charges are a class D felony, which carries one to five years in prison and a class B felony, which carries a sentence of 10-20 years.

Bloomfield is scheduled for arraignment in circuit court on Aug. 26 at 9:30 a.m.

The case remains under investigation by KSP Trooper Michael Fogleman.
