MAYSVILLE | Leslie Thomas (Tom) Adams, 54, of Aberdeen, Ohio, died Dec. 6, 2012, in Maysville due to complications from open heart surgery.

He was born Dec. 18, 1957 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Leslie Edgar Adams and Ethel Ann Miller Caldwell Adams.

Tom grew up in Garrison and graduated from Lewis County High School in 1975. For the past 26 years, Tom was a mechanic for Black River (Carmeuse) Lime and Stone in Butler. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to everyone he ever knew. He always made the time to help anyone in need.

Tom was a member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church in Maysville. He was a powerful testimony to the Lord in every aspect of his life and loved his church and church family. His pastor and the pastor’s wife, Tony and Christi Leiss rarely left Tom and Tom’s family’s side during the past several weeks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Marilyn Rachel Caudill Adams; three sons, Tommy Adams (Carola Stiver), Amelia, Ohio, Joey Adams (Chris Hummel), Ludlow, and Matt Adams of Maysville; two granddaughters, Alexis Adams and Lainey Adams; two daughters-in-law, Jennifer Adams (Jerold Murray ) and Johnna Adams; and brothers and sisters, Chester Caldwell (Brenda) of Tollesboro, Marge Everman of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Roger Caldwell (Kathy) of Garrison, Donna Ruckel (Jerry) of Vanceburg, Kathy Wright (Keith) of Melbourne, Fla., Dwight Adams of LeHigh Acres, Fla., and Jeanne Gordon (Chuck) of Wheelersburg.

In addition to his mom and dad, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Adams and three sisters, Janice Elizondo, Linda Johnson and Barb Cottrell.

Tom also had many brothers and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends that meant so much to him and he loved them very much.

Funeral services for Tom Adams will be Monday, Dec. 10 at noon at the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Liess officiating. Burial will follow at the Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m., at the church.
