State’s football program has won a grand total of twelve games in the past seven seasons and that is why the top tier BCS schools wanted to pound them to rack up the stats. Oklahoma State took it easy on Savannah State and beat them by the score of 84 to 0. Last week the game against Florida State was called during the third quarter because of weather as Savannah only lost by the score of 55 to 0. Savannah wanted to make money and they did as they pocketed 860 thousand for the two games. They lost the two games by the combined score of 139 to 0, but like they say, “Show me the money”.

Two ladies, Vicki Collins and Kathryn Gilligan, had the correct answer to last week’s trivia question as they knew that John Wayne played football at Southern California University. Ted Kluszewski, the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer, was a great tight end in his college football days. What college did the Big Klu play for? Contact rpbailey@maysvilleky.net

Louisville over North Carolina: The Cards will be in for a tight game with the Heels, but men of Charlie Strong will win by four.

Kentucky over Western Kentucky: The Cats offense with quarterback Maxwell Smith leading the way will win by ten over the team from Bowling Green.

Cincinnati over Delaware State: The Bearcats will rack up some huge yardage in this game at Nippert Stadium as they will showcase their speed on both sides of the ball.

Georgia over Florida Atlantic: The Bulldogs, who are fresh off a big SEC win on the road last week, will win this game between the hedges.

Michigan State over Notre Dame: Who will the Irish start at quarterback? The Spartans ground game will control the clock and the game as the Irish lose their first game.

South Florida over Rutgers: Coach Skip Holtz of the Bulls will have his squad ready for this Big East tilt as South Florida wins by ten.

Penn State over Navy: Penn State needs a kicker as they missed five field goals last week, but they win this game by one.

Ohio State over California: The Bears travel to Columbus and as usual the Buckeyes will send them back home with a loss.

Georgetown over Lindsey Wilson: The Tigers hit the road for this Mid-South Conference game and it will be a high scoring contest, but the Tigers will return home a winner.

Morehead State over Saint Francis: The Eagles played well against EKU last week and that will carry over as they win this game at home.

Tennessee over Florida: The Vols have not been ranked since 2008 and they want to stay there as they pull off the mild upset.

Stanford over USC: On paper this should be a mismatch, but I think the Cardinal can pull off the shocker.

Alabama over Arkansas: The Tide has some injury problems but they will have enough to beat the Hogs in Fayetteville.

Auburn over Louisiana- Monroe: The men from Louisiana beat a SEC team last week, but I think the Tigers will get their first win of the year.

Georgia Tech over Virginia: This ACC game will feature lots of offense and I pick Tech to win a close one in Atlanta.

South Carolina over UAB: The ground game and the defense of the Gamecocks will be too much for the Blazers to overcome in this game.

Kansas State over North Texas: The Wildcats of Kansas State are playing well as they just demolished Miami last week and that stellar play will continue this weekend.

Wisconsin over Utah State: The Badgers were upset last week and they fired their offensive line coach on Monday, if they lose this game more heads will roll.

Virginia Tech over Pittsburgh: The Hokies did not play well in their opening game win, but they will put on a show against the Panthers.

Florida State over Wake Forest: The Noles seem to always have trouble with the Demon Deacons, but they will win this ACC tilt by ten.

Last week: Eighteen out of twenty games were picked correctly last week and the season total stands at 36 correct out of 40 contests.
