Manufacturing is an important economic driver as the fourth-largest employment sector in the country, providing more than 11.3 million jobs.
For more than 100 years, International Paper (IP) has been a premier manufacturer, using abundant and renewable resources to make products. The company is focused on safely and sustainably providing customers with products that meet the changing needs of consumers around the world.
IP is a global manufacturer that employs more than 53,000 men and women in careers that range from mechanics, machine operators, accountants, supply chain management, safety professionals, sales and marketing teams, communications and beyond.
At the Industrial Packaging Mill in Maysville, container-board is produced for use in corrugated boxes.
IP is joining manufacturing organizations around the country in recognizing Manufacturing Day, held today. This day is an annual grass-roots effort that supports hundreds of manufacturers across the nation in raising awareness of modern manufacturing technology and careers, and of the outstanding contributions of manufacturing employees across the industry.
IP’s manufacturing facilities are proud to give back to their neighbors where they operate and where employees live and work. Through the IP Foundation, IP donates to non-profit organizations around the country.
The Maysville Mill has donated more than $25,000 over the last two years to organizations that provide services in the local community. Organizations that have been funded include the Women’s Crisis Center, Toys for Tots, Hospice of Hope and Mason County Schools.
