I would like to thank many people in this community for helping to fill our shelves at the Mason County Food Pantry this past month. Straub Elementary ran a food drive during Red Ribbon Week under the direction of Trudi Bravard and that food was delivered to the food pantry by a group of students under Mike Ross, a teacher at Mason County High School with help from Jenny Bare in boxing it. The Mason County Intermediate School also ran a food drive during the same week. A big thank you goes out to Joe McKay at that school for organizing it and to Ann Tomlin for delivering it to the food bank.
Also on the weekend of November 5th and 6th, the local scouts along with the American Heritage Girls ran Scouting for Food. The parents of these scouts were very instrumental in organizing their scouts in pickups of the food bags along with helping to organize the food once it was delivered to the food pantry. A Big thank you goes out to these groups for working on filling our shelves with food.
We also have many businesses, churches, and organizations that have seen our need and run food drives. We appreciate them all.
Finally we want to thank the community for donating the food to these many drives. With this food, we will give out Thanksgiving baskets and stock our shelves. We were very low and this has helped us tremendously.
THANK YOU, Mason County!
