Dear editor,

In less than a week, we will choose the next president of the United States. We appeal to those of you who identify yourselves as Christians, who believe in God, who believe the Bible, and consider yourself pro-life. This election could impact our nation for generations to come due to the potential of appointing up to three Supreme Court justices.

Few subjects have proven to be as divisive and emotionally charged as the abortion controversy. Abortion has become woven into the very fabric of the American way of life. There is a prevalent trend of devaluing human life.

Arguments have focused on when a fetus becomes a person. The precise identification of the moment of human personhood is in some ways irrelevant. The development from embryo to fetus, newborn, toddler, child, adolescent, adult, and eventually octogenarian is simply an ordered cycle of human life. It is potentiality becoming actuality.

The issue of late-term abortions came to the forefront during the last presidential debate. Hillary Clinton made it clear that she supported all abortions while Donald Trump made it clear that, “ripping a baby from the mother’s womb up to minutes before birth” was a crime.

Mr. Trump will appoint judges supporting the constitution. Mrs. Clinton will appoint judges who will sit idly by and not protect innocent babies. Mr. Trump has released a list of 11 potential Supreme Court nominees, all of whom are considered to be pro-life. Investigate them for yourselves. The next president will shape the course of our country through the Supreme Court.

Another critical issue of interest to Christians is support of Israel. Donald Trump is committed to strengthening America’s military as well as protecting Israel. In direct opposition to Trump’s stance, Hillary Clinton has taken millions of dollars from countries opposing Israel such as Saudi Arabia.

The Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arab, Mohammad bin Salman, claims to be financing twenty percent of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign. Mr. Trump called on Mrs. Clinton during the debates to return this money. Our Senator Rand Paul also called on Mrs. Clinton to return the money. Hillary Clinton did not respond and kept the money. She cannot be depended on to support Israel while being indebted to Saudi Arabia.

In regards to this presidential election, we support the candidate whose social agenda most closely aligns with biblical values and what we believe. We support Donald J. Trump, and ask that you do the same.
