Dear editor,

I would first like to thank everyone who attended the recent Saint Patrick School Fall Festival and stopped by the Students-for-Life booth and/or gave donations for tickets to win our themed baskets and support the local pregnancy resource center, A Place of Hope.

The winners were: Emily Ballard (baby basket donated by Carolyn Dwyer and Mary Pfeffer), Mckenzie King (breakfast basket donated by Gloria Germann and Charlene Boggs), and Madge Butcher (“blessings” basket donated by the Heller family).

I am excited to announce that the Pro-Life Ministry at Saint Patrick Church, which includes the above mentioned St. Patrick Students-for-Life, will be hosting the 17th Annual Walk for Life. It will begin with a pro-life guest speaker, Mr. Gordon Jones from Shepherd’s Mission Church. He will be speaking about “Abortion and Pro-Life Issues.”

I too will be speaking about “Involving the Youth in the Pro-Life Movement.” There will also be music provided by the Shepherd’s Mission Church.

This event will take place on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 1, at 9a.m. in the Saint Patrick School Gymnasium (directly behind the church).

It is our hope to have a record breaking crowd this year!

After the speakers and music, the actual Walk for Life through our beautiful river town will commence. Please come and be a witness for those who cannot speak for themselves.

After the Walk, there will be free refreshments offered in the school cafeteria provided by St. Patrick Women’s Auxiliary.

We cordially invite everyone in Mason County and all surrounding counties. We know there are so many pro-life people in our area and hope to see you there. Please mark your calendars.
