From the cozy confines of the St. Patrick School gym, to the spaceous court of the Mason County Fieldhouse, considered by many to be the finest high school basketball facility in the commonwealth, Maysville-Mason County is known for its rich basketball history.

The 1926 Maysville High girls team captured the Kentucky state basketball title, beginning a tradition that continues to this day.

The Maysville High School Bulldogs won the 1947 title and the Mason County Royals boys team brought home the big trophy in 2003. The 2008 boys basketball state title was again captured by the Mason County Royals.

Maysville-Mason County has produced dozens of district and region titles among the three schools, many state tourney finalists and two prestigious Kentucky Mr. Basketballs -- Chris Lofton and Darius Miller. Miller remains as the only player to win the state championship, the Mr. Basketball title and an NCAA championship, which he helped win as a member of the 2012 University of Kentucky Wildcats.
