Located in Maysville on East Second Street (aka Kentucky 10), the little bridge has been standing guard over a drainage ditch for more years than anyone can remember.
But the Trip Trap bridge has always been an eye-catcher and most anyone who had reason to travel in the area will remember it.
A plea to Facebook for information on the bridge brought several replies, but no definitive date for when it may have been built.
But most everyone remembers the little bridge, can tell you where it is and who built it -- the late Bud and Wiinie Highfield. Those who responded also pointed out how the couple would decorate it each year for Christmas.
And while the little bridge may not hold any records or be on any official maps, it is listed on at least one website as among Kentucky's covered bridges. Quite an accomplishment for the little Trip Trap bridge.
