Sam will always be remembered as the player taken before Jordan. Sam Bowie averaged a double-double for his first season, then injuries hampered his playing days in the NBA. Bowie's Career Stats: 10.9 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.1 APG do not reflect what he could have done, if he was not injury prone. Sam is the owner of the race horse "Before He Cheats" named after the Carrie Underwood song. If only Sam Bowie had a healthy career, he probably would not be known as the player picked before Jordan.
