MOREHEAD -- Morehead State football athletes Jake Sutherland, Sayyid Kanu and Bradley Boone have been tabbed to the Academic All-PFL Teams.

All three were on the second team. It marks the fourth consecutive season at least three Eagles were named Academic All-PFL.

The Academic All-PFL Teams are comprised of those student-athletes who have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and are significant contributors on the field for their teams.

Sutherland, a senior tight end from Ortonville, Mich., has a 3.70 GPA in exercise science. He hauled in 31 catches for 249 yards and two touchdowns this season, starting all 11 games. Sutherland also played a key role on special teams, making five tackles on kick coverage.

Kanu, a redshirt junior safety from Columbus, Ohio, sports a 3.58 GPA in business. He ranked second on the team with 63 total tackles in 2017. He also had 1.5 tackles for losses and broke up two passes.

Boone, a redshirt sophomore punter from Maysville, has a 3.51 GPA in health and physical education. He ranked among the top punters in the PFL with a 38.8 average on 41 boots. Boone boomed eight punts more than 50 yards and landed 10 inside the 20-yard line. He also successfully completed two passes on fourth-down fake punt situations.

The PFL Academic Honor Roll, made up of all athletes with a 3.00 GPA or better, will be released in early 2018.
