One of the common traits that all of us fans have is the way we watch live events and highlights and how we listen to the talking hairdos discuss the games.

I want to go behind the names of some of the personalities we watch on a daily basis and list some interesting facts about them.

Dan Patrick attended Eastern Kentucky University on a basketball scholarship in the mid-70s. His real name is Dan Pugh and he played for the Colonels for two years before transferring to Dayton.

Jay Crawford, who is currently the host of the morning edition of SportsCenter, began his career in the mountains of Kentucky as his first job was for WYMT in Hazard in 1987.

Hannah Storm, whose given name is Hannah Storen, is the daughter of Mike Storen, who was the general manager of the Kentucky Colonels of the ABA.

The father of NBC's Cris Collinsworth was a member of the 1958 UK basketball national champions.

The answer to last week’s trivia question was Wallace “Wah Wah” Jones, as he is the only UK Wildcat to have his number retired in both basketball and football. The first to answer were Keith Kirkland, Gene McRoberts and Ashley Anderson.

This week’s trivia question is a two-part question. Who were the first head football coaches for the Fleming County Panthers and the Mason County Royals? Contact rpbailey@maysvilleky.net.

Kentucky over Alabama State: The Stoops Troops' hard work will pay off as they take the sting out of the Hornets.

Georgetown over Bluefield: Neal Pawsat has some injury problems but the Tigers will have enough to win this conference game.

Missouri over Tennessee: The Tigers simply let one get away last week, but they will focus on beating the Vols.

Notre Dame over Navy: The Irish have found some offense in the past few games and that will continue in this game.

Texas over Kansas: In the past few weeks it seems that Longhorns have lived up to their hype.

South Carolina over Mississippi State: The Gamecocks pulled a Lazarus last week as they came back from the dead.

Florida State over Miami (Fla.): This is a huge game in the state of Florida and the Seminoles will take care of business.

Kansas State over Iowa State: The Wildcats put up some points last week, but they will be hard to come by in this game as they win by three.

Drake over Morehead State: The Bulldogs will use their ground game to subdue the Eagles.

Clemson over Virginia: The Tigers are back on track as they win this ACC game.

Ohio State over Purdue: The beat goes on for the Buckeyes.

Georgia over Florida: This big-time SEC East rivalry game will be a battle to the end, but I pick the Dogs by two.

Michigan State over Michigan: The Spartans will hold off their long-time rivals as they win by three.

UCLA over Colorado: The Bruins bounce back after last week’s loss and put up some huge stats in this game.

Arizona over California: The Wildcats offense has been erratic this season but they get on track in this game.

Western Kentucky over Georgia State: The men from Bowling Green hit the road for this game and return with a win.

Penn State over Illinois: This game will be close for all four quarters, but I pick Penn State.

TCU over West Virginia: The Mountaineers are on the road again and it will be the same result.

Auburn over Arkansas: The Tigers will stay with their game plan as they beat the Hogs in Fayetteville.

Indiana over Minnesota: This Big Ten game will be won by special team play, so I pick the Hoosiers.

Last week: 18 picked correct out of 20 contests, and the season total stands at 154 out of 180 for 86 percent.
